Lilacs are so beautiful and smell amazing. And they are super easy to make into a beverage. Perfect as a mixed drink with vodka, sparkling water, and lemon slices on a hot summer day.
Lilac Juice
Ingredients
- 2 l lilac about 10 bundles
- 500 g sugar
- 5 dl water
- 1 lemon
Instructions
- Avoid rinsing the lilacs, as this removes some of the flavor
- Boil water and sugar in a small saucepan until the sugar has dissolved
- Remove the stem from the lilacs and put it in the sugar water
- Squeeze lemon juice from the lemon and grate the zest of half of the lemon
- Add lemon juice and lemon zest to the sugar water and stir well
- Put the lid on the saucepan and put it in the fridge for the next 2-3 days
- Strain the juice through a strainer to remove the lilacs and lemon zest and pour the juice into a bottle
